 79 x 62,8 cm

The reverse with the marks of the Antwerp city and most probably of Peter Vernyen (see: Van Damme, Jan. “The Antwerp panel-makers and their marks.” In Jordaens Van Dyck Panel Paintings Project. Updated by Ingrid Moortgat and Piet Bakker, edited by Joost Vander Auwera, with an introduction, and Justin Davies. Translated by Michael Lomax, link).

Condition: (UV-checked)

- The painting in general in quite good condition and without doubt an interesting study object (the marks of the panel maker as well as the not unusual depiction).

- The panel broken in two parts.

- The right part with some wear (lowest part) and minor crack in the right top corner.

- The largest part with two cracks at the bottom, and one in the left top corner.

- UV-light shows the typical colour of the varnish. The painting probably varnished when framed (borders not varnished).

- Some overpaint, for examle the red dress of Mary.
