Oscar Coddron was a Belgian painter of luminist landscapes, mainly the river Lys, seascapes, figures and nudes. He received his artistic training at the Academy of Ghent. Oscar Coddron obtained the second 'Prix de Rome' in 1907. He travelled numerous times to Italy and France to capture the light. Coddron resided in Sint-Martens-Latem in 1918. Eventually he became both teacher and director of the Academy of Ghent (link).
