Cast iron post boxes, originally painted red, manufactured in the workshops of the Liège foundry J.G. Réquilé, were widely distributed by the Belgian Central Post Office from the second half of the 19th C. until the interbellum. The preserved post boxes are more common in Wallonia, and less numerous in Flanders.
