Ecole flamande: Retour à la maison après le travail, huile sur toile, 17ème siècle

47

Work: 54 x 43,5 cm

Both the subject and the painting style are particularly close to the oeuvre of Lucas Achtschellinck (1629-1699), a Brussels landscape and genre painter, who was trained by Pieter van der Borcht III and Lodewijk de Vadder. He was the teacher of Theobald Michau. More than likely he spent some time in Italy around the middle of the 17th century, since he only became a master in the Guild of Saint Luke in Brussels in 1657, almost twenty years after the start of his apprenticeship.
