The work marked 'Desnoue fabricant à Nantes' and 'Japy frères & Cie - Méd. d'honneur' and numbered '1606'.

The dial also marked 'Desnoue fabricant à Nantes'. 

The sculpture signed P. Serres (Provin Serres, °1840) and marked and inscribed with 'Société des Bronzes'. A similar sculpture was offered by Sotheby's London on June 15, 2004 (link).
