An inlaid fruitwood 'stand alone' or 'quatre façades' in two parts, the upper part with a rectangular top above three stacks of two drawers, all of which have inlaid and crossbanded borders, lifting off to reveal a felted writing surface covering one half of the top of the lower section, above a front with a long frieze drawer above two stacks of two short drawers flanking a lifting curved door revealing shallow shelving, the lower drawers covered with a moveable tambour door, all drawers inlaid with marquetry panels of arabesques and swags, the back of the upper and lower sections inlaid with elaborate marquetry panels of swags, arabesques, urns and floral and foliate motifs, the canted and inlaid stiles on the four corners topped with ormolu neoclassic mounts, continuing into four slightly curved legs terminating with ormolu toe mounts.
