- Ex-collection Galerie Robert Finck, Boulevard de Waterloo 62, Brussels, there acquired by the current owners in December 1863. A certificate of authenticity by Robert Finck is part of the lot.

- The painting in general in good and hangable condition.
- A line running between the trees, dating from the previous restoration.
- The UV light shows some retouching, especially in the sky, and some touch-up in the trees.
- Some overpaint in the foreground, not visible under UV light but visible with the naked eye.
