Inscribed on the left side of the white falcon bird, just on the margin of the passe-partout: '南岭外叟绘' or 'Painted by the old man on the southern mountain', above a red seal.

Condition: (UV-checked) (not inspected out of the frame)
- Two horizontal tears in the upper half.
- A further few minor superficial tears throughout.
- Superficial wear throughout the entire surface: staining, minor superficial losses to the polychromy, superficial discoloration throughout.
