A presumably Romanian orthodox icon, 'The Assumption of Mary', signed Teodorescu, dated 1863

The style of this icon is in line with the work of the Romanian artist Gheorghe Tattarescu (1818-1894), and more specifically with his 'The Holy Trinity and the Holy Hierarchs' from 1858 (see last picture). Possibly a link with Nicolae Teodorescu (1797–1880), a Moldavian, later Romanian church painter (muralist), and the uncle of Tattarescu.
