J.B. van Roo (Jan Barthel, 1716-1797) was a clergyman and writer from West Flanders, known for his religious writings, such as 'Kindsheid Jesu', and his contributions to the magazine 'Biekorf', in which he wrote about spiritual matters and local history, such as an obituary for Clara van Zuutpeene la Motte in 1772. Known for his dedication to the poor. He was director of the Abbey of Our Lady of the New Plant in Ypres for 30 years. (link)
