A pair of carved stone mantelpiece pillars in the shape of a man and a woman, probably Flanders, 16th/17th C.

Offered together with their bases, these caryatid-like figures were originally part of a reconstituted chimney in the city of Muizen, near Mechelen, in the province of Antwerp.
In this reconstitution, they were surmounted by a pair of lions, which are offered separately.
