A rare French obelisk-shaped gilt bronze mounted white marble pendulum clock crowned with an eagle, late 19th C.

The work inscribed with the numbe '2948' and with the marks of 'H. Luppens Paris' and 'Médaille d'Argent S. Marti et Cie 1889'.

- This 'Pendule obélisque dite de Yorktown' is based on the clock designed by Joseph Revel, nowadays part of the collection of the Petit Palais, Musée des Beaux-arts de la Ville de Paris. The eagle holds the plan of Yorktown, the site of a decisive Franco-American victory for the Independence of the United States. (link)
