The monogram 'B.M.' stands for the Dutch genre painter Bartolomeus Molenaer (about 1610-1650). The work fits nicely into the oeuvre of the artist, who painted numerous peasant companies that were having fun (link).

- The painting without doubt in good and hangable condition.

- The usual and negligible wear to the borders due to the framing.

- The background at the left top with some very minor damage and some minor overpaint.
