The work in general and especially in the elaboration of the faces is very closely related to the oeuvre of the Antwerp painter Frans Floris (Frans Floris de Vriendt, 1560-1570). Floris, pupil of Lambert Lombard and teacher of Joos de Beer, Anthonie Blocklandt van Montfoort, George Boba, Chrispijn and Hendrick van den Broeck, Hendrick van Cleve (III), Marten van Cleve (I), Steven van Croonenborch, Ambrosius Francken (I), Frans (I) and Hieronymus (I) Francken, Damianus van der Goude, Lucas de Heere, Thomas van Keulen, Herman van der Mast, Hans de Mayer, Frans Menton, Frans Pourbus (I), Lambert Rijckx, Benjamin Sammeling, Joris van Straeten, Isaac Claesz. van Swanenburg, Hieronymus van Vissenaken and Maerten de Vos, was one of the leading figures of the Antwerp artist scene in the 16th C.
