Ref.: - This composition is taken from 'King David playing the harp' (ca. 1616) by Rubens and Jan Boeckhorst, nowadays part of the collection of the Staedel Museum. (link) The image of King David with a harp is a common theme in art and often symbolises joy, redemption and the expression of prayer and love for God. In such works of art, David's kingship is often represented by symbols such as a throne or an imperial bow, rather than a crown.
