Mezzotint engraving partially handcoloured by Richard Earlom (1743-1822) after a work by Dutch painter Jan Van Huysum (1682-1749). In the late 18th century, Richard Earlom was commissioned as part of a printmaking project to reproduce Sir Robert Walpole’s extensive painting collection at The Houghton Gallery. The project was initiated when it became evident that the collection would need to be sold - eventually to Catherine of Russia in 1778. Published by John Boydell (1720-1804).
