The vase is signed by Tsuda Eiju (1915-2001).  As the son of the Imperial artist Tsuda Daiju (1875-1946), who was a professor at the Tokyo school of fine Arts, Tsuda Eiju is considered a most influential Japanese bronze caster of the second half of the 20th century. The vase comes with its signed and sealed tomobako (original wooden storage box).
