'The adoration of the shepherds' is the mirror painting of an eponymous work by Peter Paul Rubens. The original painting is since 1803 part of the collection of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Marseille and was previously part of the collection of the Sint-Janskerk in Mechelen, where the painting was taken by the French government and transferred to the Louvre in Paris.
